Laurie + Brad + (Alex)

When I took these photos for my friend Laurie, I promised I would get them up before Alex arrived! As it turns out, Alex has already made his way into the world, and I have pictures of him waiting to be posted too! Time to get on it...

For this maternity session, we headed out to Arcadia, Oklahoma, just northwest of Oklahoma City. We started at Pops, where we grabbed some lunch and a few shots before the crowds descended on the small funky gas station on old Route 66. If you've never been, I highly suggest you go--your travels will be rewarded with an ENTIRE WALL of unique and delicious sodas to choose from. In fact, I made another stop on the way home to pick up a 6-pack of delicious Sonoma Sparklers and Orangina (my two favorites) and saw Laurie and Brad doing the same!

After Pops, we drove 1/2 mile down the road to the Round Barn, another Route 66 landmark. We were a little disappointed at first, but inside was some wonderful light that produced some of my favorite pictures of the day.

And finally, we got out the balloons...

The Schott Family

On a windy January day, I headed out to meet the Schotts for some family photos. Tom and Susan had managed to assemble their three children and two grandchildren from Florida and Oklahoma, so I was lucky enough to capture three generations!

Now this is impressive--how often can you get a big brother to do this?

The highly anticipated "Lunge Pose"

I love these two!

I'm pretty sure Susan is Paula Deen's long-lost Louisiana-born twin.  She confirmed the theory when she invited me in for some homemade gumbo!

I told you!

Kristen, Sean, and Family

Kristen and Sean contacted me about taking some engagement pictures back in July--they brought their two adorable children along for some family shots as well. These pictures have been hiding in my computer for quite some time, and I think it is time they see some light!

Jennifer, Spencer, & Co. at the Mckinney Cotton Mill

I will be photographing Jennifer & Spencer's wedding in Oklahoma in just a little over a week, but we decided to take some engagement/family photos this week of the happy couple and Jennifer's two adorable daughters since we all happened to be in Texas. Jennifer chose the McKinney Cotton Mill for the photo shoot--it is an amazing place if you ever get the chance to visit. I had a great time photographing all four of them in the nooks and crannies of the Mill!

I love her faces!

We had to cross some scary plywood bridges to get to this room, but it was worth it! I think it was the control room of the Mill, when it was in operation in the first half of the century.

I think this photo may be my favorite!

This old bike seems to be a pretty popular prop choice for quite a few Dallas photographers--myself included!

Another favorite--they had a great time running back and forth across the Mill!
